The crisis has deepened for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is embroiled in a war with Ukraine. The Ukrainian army first wreaked havoc in the western city of Kursk in Russia. Now it has wreaked havoc in the southern part. On Sunday morning, Ukraine targeted the southern Rostov region of Russia. Ukraine dropped helicopter-sized drones on oil storage here. This caused a fire here. In the video released on social media, thick black smoke and flames can be seen coming out of the fire. The governor said that the fire was set in the city of Proletarsk. Not only this, strong tremors of earthquake were also felt in the western part of Russia.
The war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been going on for about two and a half years, has taken an interesting turn since August, when Ukraine has adopted an offensive policy instead of defense. Ukraine is now targeting Russian cities. It is attacking its border with Russia with all its might. First Ukraine captured 1000 kilometers in the Kursk region, now it has started attacking the southern part of Russia. On Sunday morning, Rostov city governor Vasily Golubev said on Telegram, “In the south-east of the Rostov region, air defenses thwarted a drone attack. However, diesel fuel caught fire due to debris falling in the area of industrial storage facilities in Proletarsk.”
In a later post he said no one was injured and firefighting efforts resumed shortly afterwards. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military said it had attacked the “Kavkaz” oil and petroleum storage facility in the Rostov region. The Russian Defense Ministry said it shot down five “aircraft-sized” Ukrainian drones overnight, two of which fell in the Rostov region.
Strong earthquake strikes western Russia
A strong earthquake struck the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia’s Far East on Saturday. The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) said, “The magnitude of the earthquake was measured 7.0 on the Richter scale.
