He was the first to do a great work of public welfare like changing the 14-hour working day to 8-hour working day in the country. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar or Babasaheb is known to be the foremost architect of the Indian Constitution. He died on December 6, 1956 and his death anniversary is celebrated as Mahaparinirvan Divas in the country. Dr. Ambedkar’s visionary thinking and his contribution in the making of the constitution worked to create the social and legal foundation of the Republic of India.

Including providing maternity benefits to women workers, providing protection to children in labor and banning women from working in underground coal mines.
