A strange incident was seen in the country’s capital Delhi on Monday. The ED team in the alleged land scam case on Monday reached the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Delhi and camped there for more than 13 hours. According to the information, ED has launched a search operation here. According to PTI sources, sources claimed that Soren is missing and the investigating agency has not been able to contact him.

BMW car seized

PTI has reported that the ED team raided 5/1 Shanti Niketan building in South Delhi at 9 am on Monday. The officers were seen leaving the premises at around 10.30 pm. Sources said the investigating agency has seized a BMW car with Haryana registration number from Soren’s residence and also seized some documents found during the search of the residence. However, sources have said that Soren has given approval to record his statement at his residence on January 31 at 1 pm.

Is Hemant Soren absconding?

The Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday claimed that state Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been absconding for the last 18 hours fearing Enforcement Directorate (ED) action. Bhajra urged state Governor CP Radhakrishnan to take cognizance of the matter, saying that the credibility and reputation of Jharkhand is at stake.

Will President’s rule be imposed?

Amidst the entire incident, Jharkhand Governor Radhakrishnan has said that he is keeping an eye on the situation in the state in view of Chief Minister Hemant Soren receiving ED summons. When journalists asked the Governor whether all options for Raj Bhavan were open in view of the political situation in the state, he said that as the protector of the Constitution, I am keeping an eye on the entire situation. This is the duty of the Governor and I am performing it. I will take a decision when the time comes. However, he rejected the possibility of imposing President’s rule and called it mere speculation.
