ED officer committed suicide
New Delhi: A case of suicide by Alok Kumar Ranjan, an enforcement officer posted in ED, has come to light. The officer has committed suicide near Sahibabad railway station. His body was found on the railway track. According to the information received, Alok was under investigation by ED and CBI in an alleged corruption case.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, on August 7, an assistant director of ED was arrested by the CBI for demanding a bribe of Rs 50 lakh. The CBI claimed that a complainant claimed that Sandeep Singh had demanded Rs 50 lakh for not arresting his son. The CBI arrested Sandeep from Lajpat Nagar in Delhi while taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh.
This money was being taken from a jeweler in Mumbai. ED had raided this jeweler’s place, then Sandeep was a part of that team. Sandeep Singh was made an accused in the FIR. Enforcement officer Alok’s name was also there in the FIR. Later Sandeep Singh was suspended. After this, ED registered a case of money laundering on the basis of CBI’s FIR.
