ED i.e. Enforcement Directorate has taken a big action against the former principal of RG Kar Medical College of West Bengal. It is reported that the central agency has raided the residence of Sandeep Ghosh on Friday and the search is going on. Apart from this, officials have raided many places in the state. ED has taken this action under PMLA case. On August 9, the body of a trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall of the college, who was brutally murdered after being raped.
It is reported that ED has raided 5-6 places related to Ghosh and his close associates. ED officials have also reached the house of Prasun Chatterjee, the hospital’s data entry operator. CBI had arrested Ghosh on Tuesday itself on charges of irregularities during his tenure. He has been sent to 8 days of police custody. Meanwhile, the West Bengal government has suspended him.
