Election Commission gave a big statement regarding the security of EVM, know what it said – Hindustan News Hub

New Delhi: The Election Commission today announced the dates for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. During this period, the dates of by-elections of all the states were also announced. Election Commission has given a big statement on EVM amid the announcement of dates.

What did the Election Commission say?

The Election Commission said that there is no fault in EVM. EVM is completely safe. The polling agent’s signature will also be on the battery of the EVM. EVMs will be under 3 layer security. The Election Commission said that EVMs have single use batteries. EVMs do not have batteries like mobiles.

It is noteworthy that the opposition has been making statements many times about irregularities in EVMs. In such a situation, the Election Commission has already clarified everything regarding EVMs.

When are the elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand?

The Election Commission has announced the dates of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. Elections will be held in Maharashtra on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23. Elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase. Whereas in Jharkhand, voting will be held on 13th and 20th November and the results will come only on 23rd November. Elections will be held in Jharkhand in 2 phases.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there will be 9 crore 63 lakh voters in Maharashtra. There are 5 crore male voters here. Voting will take place at one lakh polling booths here. There will be around 960 voters at every booth in Maharashtra. Rajiv told that there are 2 crore 60 lakh voters in Jharkhand. There are 1 crore 31 lakh male voters here and 1 crore 29 lakh female voters. Voting will be held at 29 thousand 526 booths in Jharkhand. There will be 881 voters at every booth in Jharkhand.

Let us tell you that there are a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, out of which 145 seats are required for majority. In the 2019 elections, BJP got 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54, Congress 44 and others 29 seats. There are 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand. In the last elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had won 30 seats and BJP had won 25 seats, while 26 seats had gone to other parties. JMM had emerged as the largest party in the elections.
