England team got a new star, Jamie Smith broke a 94 year old record by scoring a century

Jamie Smith has scored a century in the first Test match being played between England and Sri Lanka. He has scored a century in his fourth Test match. Smith achieved this feat on the third day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford. Jamie completed his century in 136 balls. Thanks to his innings, England managed to take the lead in the first innings in Manchester.

Jamie Smith also became the youngest England wicketkeeper to score a maiden Test century, breaking the record of Les Ames, who scored a Test century for England against the West Indies at Port of Spain in 1930. He was 24 years and 63 days old at the time.
