Omicron sub variant confirmed in genome testing
According to the Union Health Ministry, most of the genome test results that are coming out now are confirming only the Omicron sub-variant. More than 600 cases of Omicron’s sub-variant XBB.1.16 have been confirmed. Most of the cases are of this sub-variant. Dr. Arun Gupta, President of Delhi Medical Council, says that the number of cases of Kovid is definitely increasing rapidly but there is no need to panic now.
Most of the patients are recovering at home
He said that most of the cases are mild and are easily cured at home. The percentage of patients admitted to hospitals is very less and it is necessary to constantly monitor the situation. If admissions in the hospital increase, then a worrying situation arises. But still it is important that people take precautions and use masks when they go out of the house. The elderly and people suffering from other diseases should take special care and must wear masks.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took stock of the preparations by holding a meeting amidst the increasing cases of Corona in Delhi. Kejriwal said that there is no need to panic due to the increasing cases of Corona. The Delhi government is fully prepared to deal with any situation. 48% XBB 1.16 variant cases are coming in Delhi. It is not severe, but has the ability to infect even after vaccination. He has appealed to the people of Delhi that patients suffering from influenza and respiratory diseases should wear masks. For the second consecutive day, more than three thousand cases of corona virus infection have been reported in the country. At the same time, the number of active cases in the country has doubled to more than 15 thousand in a week.
‘Keep isolation ward ready’
CM Arvind Kejriwal issued a directive saying that if a patient is corona positive during the treatment of the disease, then he will be given treatment by keeping him in the isolation ward of the same hospital. With this, the patient will be able to get treatment for corona and related diseases. The CM has given instructions to keep isolation wards ready for this. Till now during the treatment, if the patient was immediately shifted to the Covid ward after getting corona, due to which the treatment of his own disease was affected.

According to CM Kejriwal, random screening of 2 per cent passengers was being done at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. He said the government has the capacity to conduct 4,000 tests per day at its own facilities, while private labs can do more than one lakh tests daily. He said, ‘All patients who are coming to the hospital with any problem or respiratory ailments will be provided with masks and will be tested for Covid. Also, 5% of all patients with influenza-like symptoms coming to the hospital will be tested.
