An explosion took place in an illegal firecracker factory operating in Bareilly, UP. Five nearby houses collapsed due to the blast. Three people including a child died. While five people were injured. Many people are feared to be buried under the debris. After receiving the news of the accident, the police and administration team reached the spot and started relief work.
The incident took place in Kalyanpur village of Sirauli police station area. For the past several days, illegal work of making firecrackers and bombs was going on in the house of a person named Rehman Shah. People used to come from their homes and work here to make firecrackers and bombs. Suddenly there was a huge explosion around 3 pm on Wednesday evening. The house where the explosion took place was blown to pieces. The entire village was shaken by the sound of the explosion. The blast was so strong that the houses of Rehman Shah, Rukhsar, Israr Khan, Babu Shah and Peer Shah living nearby were completely razed to the ground. Everyone’s houses were turned into debris. Within no time there started screaming.
As soon as the news of the explosion in the illegal firecracker factory was received, there was panic in the police administration. Immediately SDM, CO Amla reached the spot along with police and fire brigade. The fire brigade immediately started relief work. Bodies of three people including a child were recovered from the debris. While five injured people were also pulled out from the debris. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. According to the police, there is information that many more people are still buried under the debris. Relief rescue work is going on. Let us tell you that in the past too there has been a firecracker explosion in the same area. Then there was an explosion at Nazim’s house. There was a blast at Rehman Shah’s house on Wednesday. Rehman Shah is said to be a relative of Nazim. Police is investigating the matter.
Three including woman killed, five injured
Those who died in the illegal firecracker factory include Rehman Shah, son of Jogisha, and Chhoti Begum, wife of Rehman Shah. Apart from this, a child has also died but he has not been identified. Five people have also been seriously injured in the accident, including Fatima, wife of Nazim and Sitara, wife of Nasir. The three injured have not been identified. All the injured were taken by ambulance to Ramnagar PHC, where after first aid they were referred to the district hospital.
