New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu has also expressed grief over the incident of mimicry of the Vice President. He wrote in a post on social media platform X that dignity should be maintained during expression and it should be within the norms of etiquette.

Disappointed by the insult of the Vice President in the Parliament complex

On Tuesday, MPs gathered outside the Parliament and protesting against the suspension of opposition MPs at Makar Dwar. At the same time, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee had mimicked the gesture of Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. The video of this mimicry started going viral. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi was making a video during mimicry. When Kalyan Banerjee was doing mimicry, many opposition MPs were present there.

PM Modi spoke to Jagdeep Dhankhar

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to the Vice President on phone regarding this incident and expressed grief. He said that he too has been suffering this kind of insult for the last 20 years, but continued to perform his duty. PM Modi said that the behavior of the opposition is unfortunate.

Jagdeep Dhankhar himself had expressed his displeasure on this matter inside the House. He said that I just saw on a TV channel that an MP was making fun of the Rajya Sabha Chairman and one of your leaders was making a video of it. Dhankhar said that I pray to God that he gets good wisdom. The post of Chairman is different. Political parties can clash with each other in the form of party and opposition, but the chairman should be kept away from this.
