There is big news for the farmers who get their crops insured. Helpline numbers have been issued by the insurance companies. Farmers have been advised to report crop loss on these numbers within 72 hours. The claims of the farmers will be settled after the spot inspection. Due to unseasonal rains, there is information about damage to standing crops in the fields in many parts of the state.

The rains due to Western Disturbances in Rajasthan are being described as nectar for the crops, but due to excessive rains at some places, the crops of the farmers are also getting damaged on a large scale. After the cold wave, now after the damage caused to the crops due to unseasonal rains, the Agriculture Department has come into action mode. The Agriculture Department has said that it is necessary to inform the insured farmers within 72 hours to the insurance company working in the concerned district to compensate for the loss of crop due to adverse weather conditions in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Agriculture Commissioner Kanaram told that due to adverse weather conditions, farmers’ crops have been damaged. Under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance cover has been made available to farmers on individual basis in case of damage to the insured crop due to hailstorm and waterlogging.

Agriculture Commissioner Kanaram said that in case of damage to the insured crop due to hailstorm or waterlogging, it is necessary to inform the insurance company working in the district within 72 hours of the incident. This information can be given through the toll free number of the insurance company or through the Crop Insurance App. Apart from this, the affected insured farmers can also give information to the insurance company, agriculture office or the concerned bank working in the districts by filling the loss form. Farmers who do not give information about the damage to the crop should file the information on time so that insurance benefits can be given as per the provisions of the scheme.
