National Conference: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference Party President Farooq Abdullah has now resigned from the post of party president. The party’s national spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq has confirmed Farooq Abdullah’s resignation as president. Farooq Abdullah has also given the reason behind this decision. He said that he no longer wants to lead the party due to his ill health. Addressing party workers in Srinagar, he said that poor health no longer allows him to lead the party.
At the same time, with the resignation of Farooq Abdullah, now the party will have to choose a new president. According to the information, elections can be held for the new president of the party on 5 December. At present, till the elections are not held, Farooq will remain on the post of president. It is expected that now Farooq’s son and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah can get the command of the party. Umar is currently holding the responsibility of the party’s vice president. Party spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq said that notification will be issued soon for the election of the party president.
Farooq’s eyes were moist while leaving the post of party president. He asked his workers to strengthen the party further.
