A fire broke out in a shop located in Jasrana police station area of Firozabad district.
6 people including 3 children died due to fire in house and shop.
18 fire engines were called to extinguish the fire in the house and shop.
Firozabad. A shop located in the main market of Padham in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh and a house built above it caught fire on late Tuesday evening in which six people died. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Tiwari said, ‘The fire engulfed nine people of the same family in the house built above the shop. Out of these, six people including three children died while three people have been saved. He has been admitted to the hospital.’
This shop located in Jasrana police station area was of electronic goods and furniture. Tiwari told that prima facie the cause of the fire seems to be short circuit. To control the fire, 18 fire engines were deployed from Agra, Mainpuri, Etah and Firozabad. Apart from this, the police of 12 police stations were also engaged in rescue work. He told that the fire could be controlled after about two and a half hours. According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ranvijay Singh, the fire broke out at around 7.30 pm and also engulfed the shopkeeper’s house above the shop.
At present, the dead have not been identified. The rescue operation is still going on and it is being seen that no one else is trapped in the house. In a statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the incident of fire in a shop and a house built above it in Jasrana, Firozabad. Wishing peace to the souls of the departed, the Chief Minister has expressed condolences to the bereaved families. The Chief Minister has given instructions to immediately distribute financial assistance of two lakh rupees to the families of the deceased in this accident.
