Assembly elections are due in Jammu and Kashmir this month. Before this, a round of allegations and counter-allegations is going on in the political corridors. Meanwhile, National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah said on Sunday that the alliance of NC and Congress will win the upcoming assembly elections. Farooq Abdullah, while countering Amit Shah’s statement yesterday, said that this alliance will ensure that Jammu and Kashmir gets the status of a state.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Farooq Abdullah said, “We are against the India they want to build. India belongs to everyone. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and all the people who live here are from India. We are not intruders. We are not the ones who accept Mangalsutra.” Farooq Abdullah further said, “Those who are pointing fingers at Muslims should know that Muslims have also worked for the freedom of this country, have sacrificed their lives. Muslims are equal partners in the freedom of the country.”
BJP’s claim of ending terrorism is also false- Abdullah
Farooq Abdullah has said that they are just trying to scare Hindus. He said, “They think that Hindus will vote for them but I want to tell them that Hindus are no longer the ones who will listen to them. First they tried to sell Ram and now they are trying to scare them.” He has also said that BJP’s claim of terrorism ending after the removal of Article 370 is also false.
What did Amit Shah say in Jammu?
The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir was responding to a statement by Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah. While addressing a BJP rally in Jammu, Amit Shah had said that NC-Congress will bring back the rule of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He had said that this alliance is misleading the people on the issue of getting statehood. Amit Shah had said that only Modi ji and the central government can get statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.
