In many states, there is heavy rain and snowfall on the mountains. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert in many states.

Apart from this, snowfall has also started on the mountains. Due to this snowfall, the mercury in the high altitude areas is falling rapidly. The weather has started getting cold in many parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, a center of pressure is forming in the lower troposphere over the Bay of Bengal and along with it a western disturbance is also forming. In the Arabian Sea also, a new cyclone’s pressure center is seen forming in the lower troposphere near Karnataka and Konkan coast. For this reason, the possibility of rain has been expressed in many states of the country in the next week.

Rain may occur in these states

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar on Tuesday, 18 October 2022. According to Skymet Weather, rain may occur in some areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Along with this, rain may also occur in the areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Manipur and Mizoram. Also, there may be snowfall along with rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Cold knock in Delhi-NCR

Before Diwali, cold has knocked in the national capital Delhi and people in Delhi-NCR have started feeling cold. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature at Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory on Monday was recorded 2 degrees below normal at 17.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was also recorded at 32.5 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. This is the lowest temperature of this season. According to the Meteorological Department, till October 23, the weather will be clear in Delhi and there is no chance of rain, but in the next 4 days, the minimum temperature can drop to 16 degree Celsius.
