Foreigner arrested for molesting air hostess in Indigo flight, incident happened while coming from Bangkok to Mumbai

Mumbai. A Swedish national has been arrested for molesting a crew member on board an Indigo flight. An officer of Mumbai Police gave this information on Saturday. An official of Sahar police station said that 63-year-old accused K.K. Erik Harald Jonas Westberg was allegedly intoxicated.

The official said Westberg was accused of inappropriately touching a crew member and assaulting a co-passenger while buying food on the plane. He told that Westberg was handed over to the Mumbai Police when the plane reached Mumbai. The police officer said that a case has been registered against the accused under section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code and other provisions of the Aircraft Act. He told that the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court had released Westberg on bail on Friday.

It is being told that when the crew told the accused that there was no food in the plane, he started behaving uncontrollably. The accused agreed to take the dish as told by the crew but when the air hostess approached him with the POS machine for payment, he misbehaved with her on the pretext of swiping the card and grabbed her hand.

For some time, many incidents of such behavior of air passengers from the airlines have come to the fore. Recently, two passengers traveling on an Indigo flight from Dubai to Mumbai continued to consume alcohol despite several warnings from the crew. He misbehaved with the crew and co-passengers.
