Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter made many revelations in Kibat regarding Rahul Gandhi.

In a book written on former President Pranab Mukherjee, it has been said that in 2013, he was shocked by the incident of Rahul Gandhi tearing a copy of an ordinance. Also, it was said that he (Rahul) is “proud” of his own belonging to the Gandhi-Nehru family. The book claims that this incident proved to be the “last nail in the coffin” for the Congress in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee has said in her book ‘Pranab, My Father: A Daughter Remembers’ that her father Pranab Mukherjee had also told her that “it was probably not his decision to enter politics” and that ‘ “Lack of charisma and political understanding” is creating a problem.

When Rahul tore the ordinance in a press conference

It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi had attended the press conference organized by former cabinet minister and party’s communication department head Ajay Maken on September 27, 2013 and had termed the proposed government ordinance as “complete nonsense” and said that it should be torn down. must be given. After this, he surprised everyone and tore the copy of the ordinance. That ordinance was intended to circumvent the Supreme Court order requiring immediate disqualification of convicted MPs and MLAs, and instead proposed that they could remain members of Parliament and legislature pending their appeal in the High Court.

When the former President turned red with anger…

Late Pranab Mukherjee was the Finance Minister of India and later became the Minister of External Affairs, Defence, Finance and Commerce. He was the 13th President of India (2012 to 2017). Pranab Mukherjee died on August 31, 2020 at the age of 84. In her book, Sharmistha says that although her father himself was against this ordinance and agreed with Rahul in principle. He has written in the book, “But he was surprised by this behavior of Rahul.” I was the one who first broke the news to him. After a long time I saw my father so angry! His face turned red and he said, “Who does he (Rahul) think he is?” He is not a cabinet member. Who is he to publicly reject the cabinet’s decision?

“He is proud of his belonging to the Gandhi-Nehru family.”

“The Prime Minister is abroad,” Mukherjee told his daughter. Does he (Rahul) even realize the consequences of his behavior and its impact on the Prime Minister and the government? What right does he have to insult the Prime Minister like this?” Mukherjee also wrote about this incident in his diary, ”This is completely unnecessary. He is proud of his belonging to the Gandhi-Nehru family.” With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coming to power under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Congress was reduced to its all-time low of 44 seats in the Lok Sabha. “He told me that this behavior of Rahul is the last nail in the coffin for the Congress,” the book published by Rupa Publications said. If the (then) vice-president of the party (Rahul) had publicly shown such disregard for his own government, then why would people vote for you (the party) again?

Pranab Mukherjee had given advice to Rahul

Former Congress spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee left politics in 2021. Quoting Pranab Mukherjee, the book says, “He (Mukherjee) advised Rahul to include both new and old leaders in his team.” Referring to an incident in the book, it was said, ‘ ‘One morning, Pranab was taking a morning walk in the Mughal Garden (now Amrit Udyan), when Rahul came to meet him. Pranab did not like any kind of disturbance during his morning walk and puja. Still he decided to meet him.

There was a taunt on Rahul

According to the book, “It turned out that Rahul was actually supposed to meet Pranab in the evening, but his (Rahul’s) office mistakenly informed him that the meeting was in the morning.” When I asked my father, he “If Rahul’s office cannot differentiate between ‘A.M’ and ‘P.M’ then how can he expect to run the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in future,” the sarcastically remarked.
