In the alleged rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the CBI has now tightened its grip on former principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. The CBI will now conduct a lie detector test on Ghosh i.e. to check his lying. A Kolkata court has given permission to conduct a polygraph test of four other doctors besides the former principal. CBI sources have given this information.
The CBI, which took over the investigation from the Kolkata Police on the orders of the Calcutta High Court last week, has conducted marathon interrogation of Sandip Ghosh several times in the last few days, but Ghosh has been changing his statements every time. Now the truth of the Kolkata scandal can be revealed through a polygraph test. The CBI is confident that many unsolved mysteries can be revealed through the polygraph test.
Unsatisfied with Ghosh’s alleged inconsistent arguments and answers during the interrogation, the CBI had sought permission from the court to conduct a polygraph test. “We want to further verify Ghosh’s answers as there are discrepancies in some of his responses to our questions. So, we are considering the option of conducting a polygraph test on him,” PTI quoted an unnamed official as saying.
There are many allegations against Ghosh including covering up the case. Ghosh resigned from his post just two days after the rape and murder on 9 August. There are also allegations against Sandeep Ghosh that he made the parents of the deceased doctor wait for several hours and did not let them see their daughter’s dead body.
