Ganesh Laddoo Auction In Hyderabad: In Hyderabad, Telangana, the Prasad of Lord Ganesha (Ganesh Laddoo) was sold by auction for about Rs 61 lakh. The auction took place at a pandal during Ganesh Utsav. According to reports, the people of Richmond Villa Sun City collectively bought Prasad’s laddoos from Ganesh Pandal. The weight of the laddu is said to be around 12 kg.
About 100 people collectively spent Rs 60.8 lakh to buy this laddu. It is being claimed that now this is the most expensive laddu in the world which was auctioned at such a huge price. It is being told that people of all religions – Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians were included in the people who bought this laddu. In this way, the message of collective harmony has been given through the program of auction of laddus.
This work will be done with the money of laddus
It is being told that in Richmond Villa Sun City, a similar program of laddu auction is organized in the pandal for the last five years. The society has formed a trust, through which the money received from the auction of laddus is spent for the education and health of needy children through more than one and a half dozen NGOs.
Apart from this pandal, auction of Ganesh Laddu was organized at two other places. Auction of laddus in Markatha Shri Lakshmi Ganpati Utsav pandal was done for Rs 46 lakhs while in Balapur one Ganesh Laddu was auctioned for Rs 24.60 lakhs.
Started in 1994
The auction of laddus was started in 1994 from the pandal of Balapur. At that time, the local farmer Kolan Mohan Reddy had bid four and a half hundred rupees for Shubh Laddu. Locals believe that Ganesha laddus bring good luck, health and prosperity. The auction of laddus marks the beginning of the Balapur Ganesh idol immersion procession in Hyderabad.
