In Ghaziabad, a man allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Ganga canal after talking to his wife on video call. Police gave this information on Saturday. Muradnagar police station in-charge inspector (SHO) Mukesh Solanki said, “The deceased, who committed suicide by jumping into the Ganga canal on Friday night, has been identified as Sanjay Gulati (47), a resident of Noida.”
The station in-charge said, “Before taking this step, Sanjay spoke to his wife on video call from his phone and said goodbye to her. He also told his wife that he was committing suicide to get rid of his life.
Sanjay’s wife, who reached Muradnagar police station, told the police that he had made such a call earlier also but he had never taken such a step before. The police recovered his car parked near the canal bridge and handed it over to his family members. Police have deployed local divers to locate the body. “The rescue operation has been called off this evening due to insufficient light,” Solanki said.
