There is good news for users using Gpay i.e. Google Pay. The company has announced new features of UPI app Google Pay at the Global Fintech Fest 2024. The list of new features includes UPI Circle, UPI Voucher/eRupi, Clickpay QR Scan, prepaid utility payments and tap and pay with RuPay cards along with many other features. The company said that it will roll out these features for users later this year. Let us know in detail about these new features of Google Pay.
UPI Circle
UPI Circle is a new feature of NPCI, which will give the option of digital payment to those users who do not have a bank account. For this, these users will need a user using UPI account among friends and family. This feature can be very useful for those elderly people in the house who do not have a bank account or a Google Pay linked account. For this, Google Pay will give partial delegation privilege to the primary user. In this, the primary user will have to approve every transaction. Whereas, in full delegation, users can set a monthly limit of up to Rs 15 thousand.
UPI Voucher or eRupi
UPI Voucher eRupi is a direct benefit transfer feature, which was launched in the year 2021. Now Google Pay users will also be able to use it. With its help, users will be able to generate a prepaid voucher from the linked mobile number for digital payments even if the bank account is not linked to UPI. Google has partnered with NPCI and Department of Financial Services for this feature.
ClickPay QR Scan & Utility Bill Payment
This is a new feature offered in Google Pay for bill payment. It will give users the option to make bill payments by scanning QR within the app itself. For this, the biller will need to generate a customized QR code for the customer. Apart from this, the company will show the details of prepaid utility bills and payment option to the users on adding customer data. This is quite similar to the feature offered in Paytm. Google is going to offer this feature in collaboration with NPCI Bharat Billpay.

Tap & Pay with RuPay Card and UPI Lite
Tap and Pay with RuPay card feature will be available to Google Pay users by the end of this year. With its help, users can add their RuPay card to the app and tap and pay on the card machine through NFC in the phone. The special thing is that the card details will not be saved in it. Similarly, the company is going to provide an autopay feature in UPI Lite as well. This feature will automatically top-up the wallet when the balance is less than the set amount.
