Gujarat Assembly Elections: AAP releases seventh list, 13 candidates announced

Ahmedabad: Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday released its seventh list of 13 candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. With this, the party has declared the names of 86 candidates so far. The list was released by the party’s state unit president Gopal Italia. Elections for the 182 seats in the Gujarat Assembly are due by the end of this year. However, the election schedule has not been announced yet. Out of the 13 seats for which AAP has released the list of candidates, 10 are currently held by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while the remaining three are with the opposition Congress.

Italia said two seats – Kadi and Kalavad – are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, while three – Sankheda, Mandvi and Mahuva – are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. Italia told reporters that the candidates included a retired government official, doctor, lawyer and industrialist.

The seats for which the names of candidates were announced today include Kadi (SC), Gandhinagar (North), Wadhawan, Morbi, Jasdan, Jetpur, Kalawar (SC), Jamnagar (Rural), Mehmedabad, Lunawada, Sankheda (ST). , Mandvi (ST) and Mahuva (ST). HK Dabhi, Mukesh Patel, Hitesh Bajrang, Pankaj Ransaria, Tejas Ghazipara, Rohit Bhuva, Dr. Jignesh Solanki, Prakash Donga, Pramodbhai Chauhan, Natwarsinh Solanki, Ranjan Tadvi, Sanyaben Gamit and Kunjan Patel Dhodia have been made candidates for these seats respectively. .

Till now neither the BJP nor the Congress has released the list of candidates for the upcoming elections. Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has so far released the list of five candidates from Danilimda (SC), Jamalpur Khadia, Surat-East, Bapunagar and Limbayat seats. AAP has established itself as the main contender to give a tough fight to the ruling BJP.

Its national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been campaigning aggressively in the state and addressing rallies and meetings. He is making pre-election promises of free electricity and better education and health facilities to the public.
