Gujarat: BJP has ended the politics of appeasement in the state, established rule of law – Amit Shah

Ahmedabad: Criticizing the Congress on various issues, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)B J P) during his 27-year rule in Gujarat ‘Politics of appeasement’ has been abolished and the rule of law has been established. Shah alleged that the Congress used to make fun of the BJP and its workers over the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He also asked Rahul Gandhi to visit the temple. According to Shah, the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be ready for inauguration in January 2024. Union Minister was addressing an election rally in support of BJP candidate and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel from Ghatlodia seat of Ahmedabad city.

Shah and Patel led a roadshow till Sola area after the rally. On this occasion, Patel handed over his nomination papers to the officials for the elections to be held next month. Voting is to be held in Gujarat in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8. The BJP is eyeing a seventh consecutive term in power in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah, where a triangular contest between the BJP, the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is shaping up.

Shah said, “The people of Gujarat have also seen days, especially between 1985 and 1995 (under non-BJP governments), when communal riots were common. Curfew was imposed for at least 250 days in a year. Whenever the relatives used to go out of the house, women used to pray for them. Shah said that the BJP governments have improved this situation, due to which now no one dares to create disturbances.

The Gandhinagar MP said, ‘All Latif and Ijju Shaikh (two criminals from Gujarat) were already finished. Today, the youth of 20 years do not even know what a curfew is like. We ended the politics of appeasement and established the rule of law in Gujarat. Ghatlodia assembly constituency is a part of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2017 elections, Patel was elected from Ghatlodiya with a huge margin of 1.17 lakh votes.

Shah said that the Congress used to make fun of the BJP and its workers for supporting the construction of the Ram temple. He alleged that the party created legal hurdles to delay the construction of the temple. He said, ‘Earlier the Congress used to taunt us as to when the temple would be built. Now the temple is getting ready for inauguration in January 2024, so Rahul Baba can visit the temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved this 550-year-old dispute peacefully.

Shah praised the prime minister for abrogating Article 370 (which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir) and bringing a law to ban the practice of triple talaq. He termed Patel as the ‘future chief minister’ of Gujarat and urged the voters to make him victorious by a large margin.
