Gujarat Elections 2022: Voting for the first phase today, check your name in the Voter List like this

Ahmedabad. Voting for the first phase of Gujarat assembly elections will start from 7 am on Thursday. In the first phase, 788 candidates are in the fray for 19 districts of South Gujarat and 89 seats in Kutch-Saurashtra regions. The state has traditionally been a contest between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, but this time there is a third party in the fray in the form of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which won a total of 182 seats in the assembly. From 181 have fielded their candidates.

Meanwhile, before casting vote, it is very important for voters to know whether their name is in the voter list or not. And its method is also very easy. So let’s know, how you can check your name in the voter list in minutes:

Step 1. First of all you have to go to https://nvsp.in/ website.
Step 2: Many options will appear here, out of which click on Electoral Role.
Then a new webpage https://electoralsearch.in/ will open.
Here you will have to give details of Voter ID like name, age, date of birth, gender, state, district.
After giving all the details, the captcha code given below will also have to be entered and then click on search.

There is also another way to search by name in the voter list. On https://electoralsearch.in/ page itself, you can search your name by voter ID card serial number. Searching name with Voter ID is easier because in comparison to the previous method only EPIC number, state and captcha code have to be entered.

After this, a message will come on your mobile number, which will have your polling number and name.
Important thing, if your name is not in the voter list then you will not get any information.

In the first phase, 89-89 candidates of BJP and Congress and 88 candidates of AAP are in the fray. In the first phase, BJP has fielded nine women candidates, Congress six and AAP five. Out of the total 788 candidates in the first phase, 718 are male and only 70 are female candidates.

According to the Election Commission, a total of 2,39,76,670 voters are registered in the areas covered under the first phase. These include 1,24,33,362 men, 1,15,42,811 women and 497 voters of the third gender. There are a total of 4,91,35,400 registered voters in Gujarat.
