Gujarat elections: ‘Modi’s magic’ continues, PM’s stormy campaign is important for BJP

The BJP in Gujarat is still dependent on PM Modi as the biggest vote-catcher.
PM Modi’s popularity among the people of Gujarat is no less than a ‘puzzle’.
Many voters do not care about the BJP candidate, but do care about PM Modi.

Gandhinagar. PM Narendra Modi may have been in Delhi for the last eight years but his party still relies heavily on him as the biggest vote-catcher in Gujarat. PM Modi’s popularity among the people of Gujarat is no less than a ‘puzzle’. It seems that many voters do not care about the BJP candidate, but do care about PM Modi. Sabir Miyan, an elderly Muslim voter from a village in Kheda district, said that ‘it is still Modi ji’s magic, we have Modi in our hearts’. PM Modi addressed a rally in Kheda on Sunday.

On the way from Ahmedabad to the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Narmada district, passing through Vadodara and Anand, one can see on BJP posters that Narendra Modi is the main face along with other leaders promising ‘peace and trust’ in the state Is. Where the party has been in power for the last 27 years. Modi, who was the former CM of Gujarat, is also leaving no stone unturned. He has already done 19 rallies here and a road show in Surat. PM Modi is going to hold 11 more rallies before the end of the election campaign in the state on Saturday (December 3). He spent Sunday night in Surat after his big roadshow after three rallies during the day and will hold four more rallies on Monday in different seats for the first phase of polling on December 1. He will return to Gujarat on December 1 for two days. He will end his campaign with a road show and rally in Ahmedabad, along with seven more rallies for the second phase of seats.

AAP is not in fight, came to cut votes
Such a stormy campaign for PM Modi in Gujarat is not new. In the 2017 assembly elections, he held more than 30 rallies in the state. Including a seaplane ride at the end of a headline-grabbing campaign. The Congress had emerged as a major challenger in that election, which restricted the BJP to a slim majority of 99 seats. Whereas this time the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trying to make the contest triangular. Yagya Brahmabat, who is going to vote for the first time, says that AAP is not in the fight, has come to cut votes. There is no competition for BJP this time in Gujarat.

Gujarat Election: PM Modi-CM Kejriwal will exert strength today in the last phase of the campaign

congress graph dropped
While Sabir Miya of Udela village of Kheda says that ‘Whenever there was a problem in my village, no one from Congress used to come to see us. There is a lot of infighting among them. The Congress graph in Gujarat seems to be on the decline after rising in 2017. The onslaught of PM Modi’s campaign has further damaged the party. Even the local Congressmen say that it was not right on the part of Rahul Gandhi to give place to Narmada activist Medha Patkar in Bharat Jodo Yatra in the midst of Gujarat elections. PM Modi has done something similar in his campaign to attack the Congress. PM Modi remains a hit among women voters as well. Women empowerment is a major topic. As seen in women driving electric auto-rickshaws till the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya. It is Modi’s promise of peace and security, which seems to be resonating here as well.
