Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa assembly seat. Currently, he is an MLA from Karnal, from where he contested the by-election after the resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar. Ladwa seat comes under Kurukshetra Lok Sabha and it is the home constituency of Naib Singh Saini. He was elected MP from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 general elections. In such a situation, the assembly elections will be a kind of homecoming for him. Apart from Naib Singh Saini’s seat, BJP can announce the names of candidates on some other seats today or tomorrow.
According to BJP sources, all 90 seats of the state were discussed in the meeting held on Thursday evening, out of which 55 have been decided. However, till now the name of any candidate other than CM Saini has not been announced. The meeting held at Delhi headquarters was chaired by PM Modi. Many senior leaders including BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Satyanarayan Jatia, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, K. Laxman, Naib Singh Saini, Sudha Yadav were present in this meeting. Haryana Bhupendra Yadav, Biplab Deb, Satish Poonia, Surendra Nagar and Dharmendra Pradhan were also present in this meeting.
Before this meeting, JP Nadda and Amit Shah also had a long meeting. It is being said that the names of the candidates were decided in this meeting. Manohar Lal Khattar, Dharmendra Pradhan were also present in this core group meeting. It has been learned that now a meeting is to be held on Friday as well, in which the names of the candidates for the remaining 35 seats of the state will also be discussed. Sources say that the names of the candidates can be announced by the party two or three times. According to the information received so far, BJP can also field senior leaders like OP Dhankhar, Captain Abhimanyu in the elections. Voting is to be held in the state on October 1 and counting will be done on the 4th.
