Munugode By Poll Win TRS: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) managed to win the Munugode bypoll in the by-election to Munugode assembly seat of Telangana. Party’s state working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that it failed to stop the TRS. TRS leader Kusukuntala Prabhakar Reddy won the by-election with a majority of 10,309 votes by defeating BJP’s candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan after the bypoll results, KTR said the BJP failed to stop the TRS from winning the elections despite his efforts. KTR Rao said, “In this by-election, Delhi bosses, Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had put pressure on the people of Munugode. The BJP should have the courage to accept defeat.” He congratulated the people of Munugode for supporting the TRS party. He also claimed that the BJP had spent hundreds of crores of rupees to win the elections.
BJP spent hundreds of crores
KTR Rao further said, “According to our report, BJP spent hundreds of crores and bags money so that their candidate could win this by-election wrongly. With money and liquor, they wanted to buy the voters of Munugode.” Meanwhile, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay said that the party respects the decision of Munugode’s people. Addressing the media at the BJP state office, Bandi Sanjay said, “BJP candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy fought this election like a hero. No matter how many threats were made by the ruling party, BJP workers worked steadfastly.”
The ruling TRS had threatened BJP leaders
BJP Munugode’s candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy on Sunday alleged that he was threatened by the ruling TRS government. The BJP leader said, “Despite these challenges we fought, TRS victory is fake, BJP was winning. We respect Munugode’s decision of the people, but we do not accept those who got votes wrongly. The state government used its power and threatened us which led to their victory. Telangana police officers are in the hands of KCR. We were threatened that if we don’t change party, a case will be registered against us.”
