In Kerala, a person has been sentenced to more than 100 years of imprisonment. The man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting his minor daughter. A Kerala court on Tuesday convicted a man of repeatedly sexually assaulting his elder minor daughter. The court sentenced him to a total of 123 years of imprisonment.
Punishment under three sections
Manjeri fast track court special judge Ashraf AM also convicted the accused of sexually assaulting his minor daughter and sentenced him to three years’ imprisonment. The court sentenced the accused to 40 years each under three sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. Along with this, he was sentenced to three years i.e. a total of 123 years for the crime under the Juvenile Justice Act.
All sentences will run concurrently
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7 lakh on him. All the sentences will run concurrently and he will have to serve a maximum sentence of 40 years. In the case of sexual assault of younger daughter, the court sentenced him to three years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.85 lakh.
