Heavy rain alert in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh, schools and colleges to remain closed

New Delhi. A warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Holiday has been declared in schools, colleges in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry among other places. Also, during November 11 to 14, there is a possibility of heavy rain at different places in Kerala and Mahe. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rains at isolated places in North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on November 11, while on November 12, 2022 in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area remains over the Bay of South West Bengal off the coast of Sri Lanka. It is expected to move northwestwards by the morning of 12 November. It may move towards Tamil Nadu- Puducherry due to which very heavy rain is expected at these places. Due to the anti cyclone, many districts of Tamil Nadu are already receiving heavy rains. Due to this there is a situation of water logging. School-college holidays have been declared in many districts of the state.
