The samosa controversy is continuously gaining momentum in Himachal Pradesh. When BJP alleged that someone else ate CM Sukhu’s samosas, Himachal government set up a CBI inquiry. After this, officials associated with the government said that no CBI inquiry has been set up. CID also said that this is their internal matter and other people should not be dragged into it. Finally CM Sukhu said in an interview that he does not eat samosas at all. In such a situation, the question is then who were the samosas for and why is there such ruckus. Let us understand the whole matter.
CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had attended a program of CID as the chief guest. For this program organized at CID headquarters, three boxes of samosas and cakes were ordered from Hotel Radisson Blu located in Lakkar Bazaar. However, these snacks did not reach the CM and were served to the security team. The matter was investigated by a Deputy SP level officer and the incident was termed as an “anti-government act”, leading to an uproar.
What did BJP say?
BJP state spokesperson Chetan Bragta, while taking a dig at the state government over the controversy over samosas and cake, said that if a CID inquiry can be instituted if samosas are not received, then it is clearly visible what is the priority of the Himachal Pradesh government. Is. He said that at present there are many other big problems in Himachal Pradesh, but the Himachal Pradesh government’s focus is only on food items. A CID inquiry is being set up if samosas are not found. Not only this, this incident is also being described as anti-government. Development work has been stopped in Himachal Pradesh for the last two years, but the state government is not paying any attention to it. In such a situation, the Himachal Pradesh government and the Chief Minister should leave aside all these small matters and focus on development works.
CID cleaning
Regarding the samosa investigation controversy, CID Director General Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha has said that this is an internal matter of CID. The interim investigation report going viral is a matter of concern. No notice has been issued against any employee. Politicizing the matter is unfortunate. The CID’s internal investigation report found that the job of bringing samosas for the CM was given to an SI, who handed over the job to his junior staff. After this, samosas and cakes arrived, but due to a misunderstanding, they were distributed among the security team. At the end of the program an official asked what happened to the goods that had been ordered and the matter came to light.
Leader of Opposition’s statement
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said on the samosa incident that how did a samosa become an anti-government act? The opposition people did not eat the samosa. The government’s grandiose machinery is busy tracking down the person who ate the samosa. Anarchy and corruption is at its peak at every level in the state.
Statement of CM’s media advisor
CM Sukhu’s media advisor Naresh Chauhan says that the government has not ordered any such investigation. The government has nothing to do with this matter. This is an internal matter of the CID department and they are investigating the matter at their own level. Everyone knows that the Chief Minister does not eat outside food. In such a situation, this is only a conspiracy to defame the government. BJP leaders are unnecessarily giving importance to the matter. Because BJP does not have any issue, it is wrongly campaigning against the Congress government through this issue.
For whom were the samosas brought, why is there so much ruckus?
According to the CM’s media advisor, he does not eat outside food. In such a situation, samosas and cakes were ordered for other officials participating in the program. Now if the security personnel ate the officers’ breakfast then there was bound to be an uproar. For this reason an investigation was conducted and it was called an anti-government act. However, the opposition gave it a different color and now the CM also has to give clarification.
