Home Ministry asks states to submit reports every two hours, amid doctors’ protest – Hindustan News Hub

New Delhi: Doctors are protesting across the country over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. In view of the protests by doctors, nursing staff and others, the Home Ministry has directed all states to submit a status report every two hours regarding law and order.

In view of the protests by doctors, nursing staff and others, the police forces of all states have been directed to give a status report “every two hours”. In a message sent to the state police forces, the Home Ministry said that the law and order situation of all states should be monitored in view of the protests.

Status report has to be sent to Home Ministry control room

“Please send a two-hourly report on the law and order situation in this regard to the Home Ministry Control Room (New Delhi) from 4.00 pm onwards through fax/email/Whatsapp,” the message sent to the police force said. The Home Ministry has also provided fax and WhatsApp numbers and email IDs to the state police forces on which the situation report will be sent every two hours.

Impact on health services due to protests

Let us tell you that doctors and other medical staff are protesting in different parts of the country, due to which health facilities are getting affected. The protesters are insisting on making a central law to investigate violence against health workers, declaring hospitals as safe zones with mandatory security rights, among other demands.
