New Delhi: Congress has decided to contest 89 seats in Haryana assembly elections while giving one seat to CPM. The party gave tickets to all its sitting MLAs in the assembly elections, that is, not a single sitting MLA’s ticket was cut. As far as ticket distribution is concerned, the Hooda camp is clearly dominating. At the same time, the party did not give tickets to Lok Sabha MP Kumari Selja and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala in the assembly elections. Both these leaders are also considered contenders for the post of Chief Minister, although the party has said that contesting elections is not mandatory to become CM.

The party gave ticket to Surjewala’s son

Congress has fielded Aditya Surjewala, son of party general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, from Kaithal. Bijendra Singh, son of Chaudhary Birendra Singh, who recently returned to Congress from BJP, has been given ticket from Uchana. Vikas Saharan, son of Lok Sabha MP Jaiprakash, has been fielded from Kalayat. According to sources, Kumari Selja wanted to get a ticket for her nephew from Uklana seat but the party gave ticket to Naresh Selwal from this seat.

7 candidates from Shailaja’s camp got tickets

According to sources, 7 candidates from Kumari Selja’s camp got tickets for the Haryana assembly elections, including 4 sitting MLAs and 3 new faces. At the same time, 2 tickets were given from Surjewala’s camp, one seat is to his son Aditya Surjewala and the other is to Satbir Dubey from Narwana.

Despite Rahul’s wishes, the alliance could not happen

Rahul Gandhi had said in the Congress CEC meeting that Congress should form an alliance with AAP, but according to sources, Bhupendra Singh Hooda was not in favour of this. Several rounds of talks were held between Congress and AAP regarding the alliance but the alliance could not happen because the two parties could not agree on seat sharing. In Haryana, Congress has decided to give the Bhiwani seat to the Left party.

AAP also fielded candidates on all 90 seats

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party announced the name of one more candidate in its seventh list after announcing the names of 19 more candidates in its sixth list for the Haryana assembly elections on Thursday. In this way, the party has fielded its candidates on all 90 seats in Haryana. With this, the hopes of an alliance between AAP and Congress were over. This time the party is contesting the elections with full strength and is trying to make its strong presence felt in Haryana as well.
