Hope Twitter will not suppress the voice of opposition under pressure from Indian government… Rahul Gandhi congratulates Musk

New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has congratulated Elon Musk on becoming the new owner of Twitter and expressed hope that now the micro-blogging platform will take action against hate speech. Rahul Gandhi also expressed hope that Twitter will no longer suppress the voice of the opposition under pressure from the government in India. He tweeted, ‘Congratulations Elon Musk. I hope Twitter now takes action against hate speech, fact checks more accurately and does not suppress the voice of the opposition due to pressure from the government in India.

The world’s richest man and the chief executive officer (CEO) of electric car company Tesla has become the new owner of the social media platform Twitter. Along with taking charge, he has removed Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ned Sehgal and Legal Affairs and Policy Head Vijaya Gadde. Rahul Gandhi also shared a graph on Twitter which shows that his Twitter account has been tampered with.

The former Congress president’s Twitter account was locked for a few days for sharing a picture of her family members in the rape and murder case of a Dalit girl in Delhi in August last year, citing violation of rules. Along with this, Twitter had closed the Twitter accounts of many senior Congress and party leaders.
