The maximum spending limit is Rs 90 lakh

Let us tell you that there is a limit on the expenditure incurred by a candidate on election campaign, but there is no such limit for political parties. In January 2022, based on the recommendation of the Election Commission, the government had increased the election expenditure limit for candidates in the Lok Sabha elections from Rs 70 lakh to Rs 95 lakh and from Rs 28 lakh to Rs 40 lakh for assembly elections. The revised expenditure limit for the Lok Sabha elections is now Rs 90 lakh for larger states and Rs 75 for smaller states. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases and the results came on June 4. (Input-Agency)
