The women safety wing of Telangana police has arrested at least 285 people for allegedly harassing women devotees during Khairatabad Bada Ganesh Utsav. Police said that these people were harassing devotees in the crowd during the grand Ganesh festival held in Hyderabad old city. Many of them were caught molesting women.
Police said that the accused will be presented before a magistrate for further legal action. The police officer said that such acts cannot be tolerated. Hyderabad Police had appealed to the people that if anyone in the crowd or at the place of worship does any suspicious or obscene act, then information about it should be immediately given to the police.
