Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday, before Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filed her nomination from Wayanad parliamentary constituency, that I cannot imagine a better representative than my own sister. Let us inform you that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will file her nomination from Wayanad parliamentary constituency on Wednesday (23 October). On the occasion of Priyanka Gandhi’s nomination, her mother Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and many other leaders will be present.
Rahul praised his sister by tweeting
“The people of Wayanad hold a special place in my heart and I can’t imagine a better representative for them than my sister Priyanka Gandhi,” Rahul Gandhi posted from his ‘X’ handle. I am confident that she will prove to be a staunch advocate of the needs of Wayanad and a powerful voice in Parliament. “Join us tomorrow, October 23, when she will file her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency,” she said. Let us together ensure that Wayanad continues to be represented with love.”
If she wins, Priyanka will be seen in the House for the first time.
If she wins from Wayanad seat, Priyanka will become a member of any House for the first time. She entered active politics before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Since then she has been fulfilling the responsibility of General Secretary of Congress. In the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had won from both Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats. In June, Congress had announced that Rahul Gandhi would keep Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh and vacate the Wayanad seat in Kerala, from where his sister Priyanka Gandhi will make her electoral debut.
Three members of Gandhi family will be seen in Parliament
After the victory, Priyanka Gandhi will become MP from this seat for the first time and this will be the first time that three members of the Gandhi family – Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka will be seen together in Parliament. Let us tell you that the by-elections for Wayanad parliamentary seat and 47 assembly seats will be held on November 13 along with the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly voting and the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
