I will do penance and after 11 days only… Pawan Kalyan on animal fat in Tirupati Laddus

The TDP government and the YSR Congress are face to face over the allegations of animal fat in the prasad laddus served at the Tirupati temple. A few days ago, CM Chandrababu Naidu created a sensation by making such allegations. On this entire episode, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has started an 11-day penance in the temple. He said on Saturday that he would pray to God to atone for the sins of the YSR Congress.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Saturday said he was deeply saddened by the incident of alleged adulteration of Tirupati laddus distributed as prasad with animal fat. He said he regretted why such a case could not be brought to his notice. He has said that he will do penance for 11 days to please Lord Venkateswara.

I will visit Venkateshwara Swamy only after penance

Kalyan, who turned actor-turned-politician, said he will begin ritualistic penance at the Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple in Namburu in Guntur district from Sunday. “After 11 days of penance, I will visit Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy,” the deputy chief minister said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’.

He prayed to the Aaradhya to grant him the power to perform ritual purification to atone for the alleged sins committed by the previous YSR Congress Party government. Jana Sena founder Kalyan wondered how the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) employees and board members could remain unaware of these alleged irregularities.

Nationwide outrage over CM Naidu’s allegations

The TTD is officially responsible for the maintenance of the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed in a recent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) legislature party meeting that the previous YSR Congress government did not even spare the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and used substandard material and animal fat to make the iconic Tirupati laddus. CM Naidu’s allegations have sparked outrage among people across the country.
