Supreme Court’s big comment on Kolkata case

Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, while hearing the rape and murder case of a woman trainee doctor at a Kolkata hospital, made major remarks on Tuesday, saying that if women are not able to go to work and the conditions are not safe, “we are denying them equality.” The CJI said that the case is not just about a particular issue of rape in a hospital but it deals with the issue of safety of women and doctors across India.

CJI said- this is a very serious issue

CJI said that this incident has shaken the soul of the country. The dignity of the victim has been violated by circulating her photographs. We are unable to understand how the state government could not handle the issue of vandalism in the hospital. What will the Bengal government do about the principal? The victim’s parents were not present when the murder took place. It was the responsibility of the hospital management to file an FIR but they did not do so. This is a very serious issue.

Supreme Court asked many questions

What was the principal of the medical college doing? Why was there a delay in registering a murder case? The body of the victim was handed over to the family at 8:30 pm and the FIR was lodged at 11:45 pm, after handing over the body. What was the hospital doing? Why did no one lodge an FIR? The body of the victim was handed over to the family at 8:30 pm and the FIR was lodged at 11:45 pm, after handing over the body. What was the hospital doing till then? Why did no one lodge an FIR? Why did the police not protect the crime scene? Why were thousands of people allowed to come inside? Why was the principal made to join another college?

this is a matter of security

We appeal to the doctors. We are here to ensure their safety, we will not leave it to the High Court. This is a matter of great national interest.
