Jammu Kashmir: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija Mufti seems to be politically active. During this, he expressed his opinion on many controversial issues during a conversation in a program. During this, he made a scathing comment on the question of Gupkar Alliance being on ventilator saying, “Once take out 10 lakh security personnel from Jammu and Kashmir, you will see who is on ventilator”.
Apart from this, Iltija was also seen advocating for talks with Pakistan and Hurriyat Conference leaders for a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue. Iltija also suggested the opening of the borders of Jammu and Kashmir and implementation of self-government to make Kashmir an economic hub and a gateway between Central Asia and India.
Government should hold talks with Hurriyat
Iltija Mufti said that the government will have to hold talks with Pakistan and Hurriyat Conference for a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are very politically aware. The Jammu and Kashmir issue needs to be resolved with all the stakeholders together.
He alleged that the central government wants the PDP and the National Conference to replace the Hurriyat. He also alleged that the Center wants to turn Jammu and Kashmir into a laboratory as they want an “opposition-free India”.
‘Kashmir is a strategically important state’
Mufti said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is pro-human and wants solutions to the problems of the people. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is a strategically important (state) and it has many things in common with Central Asia. The government should seize the opportunity and facilitate self-governance, trade and movement of people while making borders irrelevant for economic integration.
SCO meeting to be held in Kashmir
Referring to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on September 15 and 16, Iltija said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the summit, should have organized the meeting in Kashmir.
‘Will re-implement 370’
Iltija said that the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), an alliance of five mainstream political parties including National Conference and PDP, is fighting for the restoration of Article 370 and this is important as people have pinned their hopes with it. .
Remove the army, it will be known who is on the ventilator?
Iltija said during this time that the PAGD should be more active and vigilant and work on unity in the real sense, bypassing the interests of the party. Our special status and identity is under attack and we have to defend it.
Mufti did not agree that PAGD was on ‘ventilators’. He said, “Take out 10 lakh security personnel from Jammu and Kashmir, you will see who is on ventilator.”
Iltija claimed that pressure tactics were being used to bow down her family. He said that when the PAGD meeting takes place, summons are sent to my mother or my maternal grandmother of 75 years. My grandmother has not been given her passport for the last two years.
Is Article 370 a hindrance in development?
Iltija Mufti said that BJP is campaigning across the country by calling Article 370 a hindrance in development, while it is not right. Iltija said that in 2017 the Human Index of Jammu and Kashmir was 0.68, which was higher than Gujarat and we were number one in life expectancy, female literacy and health infrastructure. Today our unemployment rate is 56 percent, there has been scam in the recruitment process and there is rampant corruption in the state.
‘Government is trying to weaken Kashmir’
Iltija said that the claim of removing most of the provisions of Article 370 for the benefit of the people is baseless. He alleged that he has no good intentions, as he sees Kashmir as a military, a law and order problem and a religious problem.
Since they look at the issue through a religious prism, the solution they are trying to implement is to change the demographic base and make people economically vulnerable. Iltija claimed that the BJP government ignores the reality. Trying to suppress the people. Kashmir is a humanitarian and political issue and it needs a solution.
