In Amritsar, armed assailants shot an NRI, his mother and children kept folding their hands; VIDEO

A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) was shot dead by two unidentified assailants at his house in Dabuji village on the outskirts of Amritsar in Punjab, police said. Sukhchain Singh, who had recently returned from the US, was shot in front of his wife and his two children from his first marriage, police said.

According to the police, Singh was going for a morning walk when the motorcycle-borne assailants stopped him outside his house. They took him inside his house and asked him for the registration papers of his luxury car. After an altercation, the assailants assaulted Singh, fired three bullets at him and fled from the spot, police said.

Two bullets hit Singh near his head and chest. After the incident, Singh was taken to a private hospital. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the victim’s house. Police said that the forensic team has reached the spot and investigation is underway. Singh’s wife alleged that his first wife’s family was behind this attack.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has targeted the law and order situation in Punjab regarding this incident. Sharing the video, Badal said, “The law and order situation in Punjab has completely deteriorated. I am very sad to see the current situation in Punjab.”

He further wrote on the post, “This morning in Daburji, Sri Amritsar Sahib, miscreants barged into the house of our NRI brother Sukhchain Singh and opened fire in public. The mother was pleading with folded hands to save her son and the innocent child was begging to save his father, but the ruthless criminals did not listen to a single word. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, such incidents are happening every day in your rule. Punjabis are not safe even in their homes.”
