An uncontrollable car crushed a scooty on Thursday night on Ranchi’s Bahu Bazar-Kantatoli road. After the collision, the scooty was dragged along with the car for a hundred meters on the road. Due to this, an 11-year-old boy riding the scooty was crushed to death. The boy, Priyanshu Sikriwal, was a sixth class student at Bishop School, Bahu Bazar. The boy’s mother, Roma Kumari, who was driving the scooty, was seriously injured in the accident.
On receiving the information of the incident, the police immediately sent both the injured to RIMS, where after examination, the doctors declared the boy Priyanshu dead. At the time of the incident, Priyanshu was going to his flat in Anugrah Enclave near Gudiya Petrol Pump with his mother after attending his friend’s birthday celebration, when this tragic incident happened. Injured Roma’s husband Shashank Kumar Singh is currently in Hong Kong. He is a permanent resident of Tube Colony in Sector 3 of Baridih Police Station area of ​​Jamshedpur.
Car seized, driver absconding
It was told that the driver was driving the car at a high speed at the time of the accident. According to local people and shopkeepers, it was clear from the speed of the car that the driver was drunk. After the incident, the driver and the people in the car fled. On the basis of the wireless message, the police recovered and seized the car from Khelagaon police station area. The car number is JH-01-ET-1886, which belongs to Saurabh Kumar, who lives in Khelagaon police station area. He is out of police custody.

People living in the apartment said that Shashank Singh, wife Roma and son Priyanshu were cheerful and sociable. It was told that on August 15, Priyanshu’s mother had posted a video on social media of him waving the tricolor on the balcony of the flat during the day.
The mother injured in the accident is battling for life in the hospital
On receiving the information, Roma Kumari’s uncle Shatrughan Kumar Singh reached Ranchi from Jamshedpur with his family members late Thursday night and admitted the injured Roma to a private hospital. According to Roma’s uncle Shatrughan Kumar Singh, the drunk driver was driving carelessly and at a high speed and the scooter got hit. Due to this, his grandson Priyanshu died and his niece is battling for life in the hospital. The postmortem of the boy’s body will be conducted after his father reaches Ranchi on Saturday. Meanwhile, the police have taken the boy’s body in their custody and sent it to RIMS for postmortem.
