India Porn Website Ban: Central government orders banning 67 porn websites, strict action under new IT rules

New Delhi: The central government has ordered internet service provider companies to block 67 porn websites for violating the new Information Technology (IT) rules issued in 2021. In an email sent to internet service providers, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) asked companies to access 63 websites based on the orders of a Pune court, while four on the basis of orders of the Uttarakhand High Court and directions issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
