Indian team and players have won a total of 20 medals in the ongoing Paralympic Games in Paris and this is the highest number of medals for India in a Paralympic, because in Tokyo Indian players and teams together were able to win a total of 19 medals.
India has won 3 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 10 bronze medals out of 20 medals in the Paralympic Games 2024. Half of the medals have been won by India in para athletics, while Indian players have been successful in winning 5 medals in para badminton, while India has won four medals in shooting and one in archery so far. On Tuesday, September 3, India won a total of five medals. Deepti Jeevanji won the first medal of the day for India by winning the bronze medal in the Women’s 400m T20 category. After this, India got two medals in the Men’s Javelin Throw F46 final, in which Ajit Singh won the silver medal with a throw of 65.62 meters and Sundar Singh Gurjar won the bronze medal with a throw of 64.96 meters.
For the first time, India has won two medals in the same event in para athletics. After this, two more podium finishes were seen in the Men’s High Jump T63 final. Sharad Kumar (T42) won the silver medal with a jump of 1.88 meters, while Sharad had got the bronze medal in Tokyo. At the same time, Mariyappan Thangavelu got the bronze medal with a jump of 1.85 meters. In this way, India won a total of 5 medals in the day.
