Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed anger over the detention of Sonam Wangchuk. He said that sometimes farmers are stopped from coming to Delhi and sometimes people from Ladakh are stopped.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal turned ‘red’ early in the morning after Sonam Wangchuk was detained. He said that sometimes farmers are stopped from coming to Delhi and sometimes people from Ladakh are stopped. National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party asked whether Delhi is the legacy of any one person? Manish Sisodia also targeted the central government and alleged that Wangchuk is being treated like a terrorist. Earlier, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also strongly attacked PM Modi.
Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had come on foot to the Delhi border to demand Sixth Schedule status to Ladakh, was taken into custody by Delhi Police on Monday night. About 120 people including Wangchuk were detained at Singhu border. According to Delhi Police sources, the detained people were taken to Alipore and other police stations bordering the city. Section 163 of BNS is in force for six days in many areas of Delhi.
Sharing a post of Sonam Wangchuk giving information about her detention, the former Delhi Chief Minister said that this is wrong. Without naming anyone, he wrote, ‘Sometimes they stop farmers from coming to Delhi, sometimes they stop people from Ladakh. Is Delhi the legacy of one person? Delhi is the capital of the country. Everyone has the right to come to Delhi. This is completely wrong. Why are they afraid of unarmed peaceful people?
Aam Aadmi Party’s second-largest leader Manish Sisodia also expressed anger over Sonam’s detention. While talking to NI, he said that Wangchuk is being treated like terrorists. Sisodia said, ‘I don’t know what PM Modi, Amit Shah and BJP are doing. They are not catching gangsters because BJP has given them full protection. But why are people like Sonam Wangchuk, who raise national issues, being treated like terrorists if they want to march? Had the power which is being used to stop Sonam Wangchuk been used to stop gangsters, Delhi would not have become the capital of gangsters.
