The war between Israel and Hamas is not coming to an end. Amid talks of ceasefire, the Israeli army is targeting new targets in Gaza, which were once chosen by it as a hiding place for its refugees. The Israeli army bombed a UN school and two houses in central Gaza on Wednesday night. At least 34 people, including 19 women and children, lost their lives in the air strike. Gaza officials said that Israeli army bombs kept falling throughout the night. Displaced Palestinian families had taken shelter in the school and the houses that were targeted. A UN official said that six employees were also among the dead.
The war in Gaza has now entered its 11th month, in which thousands of people have been killed. On the other hand, international efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group are repeatedly being disrupted. The main reason behind this is the constant accusations and imposition of new demands by both sides on each other.
In Gaza, Israeli troops raided several cities in the occupied West Bank with air strikes, as the IDF continues its operations in the region. The Israeli army says it is targeting terrorists, but a large number of innocent civilians are also being killed in Israeli attacks. In another air strike, 5 Palestinians were killed. Regarding the dead, the army said that they were terrorists who were threatening its soldiers. However, in contrast, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that at least three people were killed in an attack on a car.
Israel- Hamas was planning to attack us in school
The Israeli military said it was targeting Hamas militants planning attacks from inside the school. The claim could not be independently confirmed. According to reports, one of the children killed in the attack on the school was the daughter of Momin Selmi, a member of Gaza’s civil defense agency, which works to rescue the wounded and remove bodies after attacks. Al-Aqsa Hospital officials said at least 14 people, including two children and a woman, were killed in the attack on the UN’s Al-Jouni Preparatory Boys School in the Nuseirat refugee camp. They said at least 18 others were injured.
Thousands of Palestinians have taken refuge in schools and ruins
Since Israel launched a war on Gaza in October last year, Palestinians have taken refuge in Gaza’s schools and ruins to save their lives. The Israeli army had earlier declared these places safe, but now the Israeli army has intensified attacks on these places by calling them new hideouts of Hamas. Al-Jouni School is one of the many schools run by the United Nations Agency for Palestinians or UNWRA in Gaza.
It is worth noting that at least 41,084 Palestinians have been killed and 95,029 others injured in Israel’s attack on Gaza. According to the region’s health ministry, the death toll does not include the deaths of civilians and Hamas terrorists. Before the attack on Gaza, Hamas terrorists had carried out air and ground attacks on Israel on October 7 last year. In which about 1,200 people were killed and 250 others were kidnapped.
