Israeli army’s brutality, wounded Palestinian was used as human shield and sent to death

Amidst Israel’s war with Hezbollah in the Middle East, the crisis in the region is deepening and the possibility of a major war is also increasing. Israel has been attacking Hamas for the last 10 months and is leaving no stone unturned in the war. Meanwhile, many cases of Israeli army’s brutality with prisoners have come to light. According to a statement by the Ramallah Palestinian Liberation Organization, 19-year-old Zahir Radad of Saida city of Tulkaram has died in the Israeli Meir Hospital. He was used as a human shield by the army last July.

The statement on Sunday said that Radad was arrested on July 23. The Israeli army shot him. After this, the soldiers tied him to an army vehicle. He was used as a human shield during the war. According to the statement, with the death of Radad, the number of prisoners who have died in Israeli jails since October 7, 2023 has increased to 23.

The statement further said that Radad’s condition was extremely serious. Despite this, Israeli authorities kept him in custody until his death on Sunday. Palestinian organizations have strongly condemned Israel for arresting and shooting Radad, using him as a human shield and keeping him in custody despite his critical health condition. They have described this incident as the beginning of a genocidal campaign against the people of Gaza.

There has been no statement from Israel on Radad’s death, Xinhua news agency reported. Israel has been fighting a war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, killing more than 40,000 Palestinians. Hamas had earlier attacked Israeli cities killing about 1,200 people. At least 641 Palestinians have been killed and about 5,400 others injured in the occupied West Bank since October, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. On July 19, an international court declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land illegal and demanded the evacuation of all existing settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
