Taps now reach 39.08 lakh rural families in Rajasthan
Public Health Engineering Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi said that now 39.08 lakh rural families are getting water through taps in Rajasthan. On the basis of total water connections in JJM, now Rajasthan has come at 12th position in the country. Congratulating the officers and engineers of the department on this progress of Rajasthan in JJM, he instructed to make a roadmap from now itself to achieve the goals of the financial year 2023-24, while maintaining this momentum.

Only 10% water connections were already available
Joshi said that when Jal Jeevan Mission was started, only 10 percent water connections were already available in Rajasthan. They were very less as compared to other states. In December 2019, the number of families with ‘Har Ghar Jal Connection’ in the state was 11 lakh 74 thousand 131. Now it has increased to 39 lakh 8 thousand. In this way, from 2019 till now, 27 lakh 35 thousand new water connections have been given in the state. This is a big achievement for a state with odd geographical conditions like Rajasthan.
