Jungle News: Tiger attack on youths who went to collect wood in Ambikapur, 1 killed, 2 seriously injured

Ambikapur, A tiger attacked three youths who went to collect wood in the Ambikapur forest of Surguja district of Chhattisgarh. A young man died in this incident. Whereas, two other youths were badly injured. The injured youths have been admitted to the health center where they are being treated.

According to the information received, three youths had gone to the nearby forest to collect wood on Monday morning in Kala Manjan village of Udti block of Surajpur. During this, he suddenly encountered a tiger here. The youth tried to save themselves from the tiger for a long time. Hearing the screams of the youth and the roar of the tiger, the villagers reached the forest with weapons and sticks. Angry villagers surrounded the tiger and injured it by hitting it with stones and sticks.

A young man was beheaded in a tiger attack. He died due to excessive bleeding. Along with this, two other youths have also been seriously injured. The deceased has been identified as Rai Singh. The two injured youths who have been admitted to the hospital have bite marks from tiger’s claws and teeth.

It is being told that the place where the tiger attacked the youths is three kilometers away from Kudargarhi Dham. On the occasion of Chaitra Navratri, a three-day Kudargarh festival is going on here. Many artists and a large number of people are reaching here for the evening programme. Most of the villages in this area are surrounded by forests. There is panic among people due to tiger attack. It is being told that the tiger has become more aggressive after being injured.

In this regard, Iffat Ara, Collector of Surajpur district told that a young man has died in the tiger attack. Apart from this, two youths have been injured. Due to the serious condition of one of them, he has been referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital. People are being stopped to go to Kudargarh Dham due to the closeness of the tiger to Kudargarh Dham. Along with this, the team of CCF Wildlife has been sent to the spot.
