Kamala Harris Democratic Candidate: US Vice President Kamala Harris has formally accepted the Democratic Party’s candidacy. The US is going to hold presidential elections in November. There is a tough competition between Harris and Republican Party candidate and former President Donald Trump in the election. Harris of Indian-African origin accepted the candidacy during the ‘Democratic National Convention’ in Chicago on Thursday night. With this, she became the second woman leader of the Democratic Party to become a presidential candidate. During this, she also targeted Donald Trump and said that he is not a calm and serious person.
Kamala Harris told her story while addressing millions of viewers in America and around the world. During her speech, she congratulated her husband Douglas Emhoff on his anniversary. She also told Tim Walz, who is contesting for the post of Vice President, that he will prove to be a great Vice President. During this, Kamala Harris said, on behalf of every American, regardless of party, caste, or language, on behalf of my mother and all those who started their impossible journey, on behalf of the Americans with whom I grew up, who work hard, pursue their dreams and take care of each other, on behalf of all those whose story can only be written in the greatest nation on earth, I accept the candidature.
Harris (59), who came on the stage to accept the candidature at the ‘United Center’ in Chicago, said that impossible journeys are nothing new for her. Harris said that her rival Donald Trump is not a calm person and the consequences of making him president again will be very serious. Expressing her commitment to support Ukraine in the war with Russia, she said that if she is elected president, she will stand firmly with Ukraine and its allies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Harris’s mother Shyamala Gopalan was Indian and her father Donald Jasper Harris was a citizen of Jamaica. If Harris is elected, she will be the first woman President of America.
