Karnataka: Bloody fight over distribution of cigarettes, friend stabbed to death
Bangalore. A fight over sharing of cigarettes in Bengaluru’s Upparpete on Thursday took such a dangerous turn that one person lost his life while two others were injured. The deceased has been identified as Mallinath Biradar (36) of Kalaburagi district, who was working in a hotel near Majestic for the past few months. Police said that an associate of the victim, whose name is Ganesh, is the main accused in the case.
There was a fight between Mallinath and Ganesh on Wednesday night over distribution of cigarettes. According to the news published in ‘The Indian Express’ website, according to the police, when Mallinath allegedly attacked Ganesh, another colleague named Manjunath intervened between them, which stopped the fight.
It is said that the next day, Thursday, at around 6:30 pm, Ganesh raised the issue again, which led to another scuffle between the three men. Ganesh, who was carrying the knife, allegedly stabbed Mallinath in the stomach. Ganesh and Manjunath were also injured in the fight.
Mallinath was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital in injured condition, where doctors declared him brought dead. The other two injured have been admitted to Victoria Hospital. Upparpete police have registered a case and the matter is being investigated.
